ISSUE 3:
October, 2001 Dear Friends and Colleagues, Because of the devastation we’ve just witnessed in New York, I wish to give you the “heads up” about a specialized gurney I’ve created to aid emergency personnel in safely and easily removing those injured in any emergency situation. I think about all those who were trapped in the rubble of the World Trade Center and the heroic efforts of the people who worked so diligently to save them. When I designed the Safety Sure™ Transfer Gurney, I did so with the intention that it be highly maneuverable, so it could be used in hard to reach and narrow places such as in bathrooms or stairways. Of course, when I designed it, I never thought about its use in regards to a terrorist attack! But the truth is, it’s probably the best transfer gurney to aid in this kind of situation. It is sturdy, lightweight, and bendable, and is maneuverable in a way that no other gurney can compare. It is also oversized and can hold up to 600 lbs. Ten grab handles allow for additional man-power support when teams of rescuers are working together. Of course, this gurney can be used for other patient transfer needs in homes and hospitals as well. I just wanted to make you aware that it is available for all paramedics and those who can foresee the need to be prepared for any out-of-the-ordinary transfer or emergency.
